DR. CARGILL ILL.
Well Known Physician And Former Councilman Sustains Slight Stroke of Paralysis.
 
Dr. J. Marcus Cargill, the well-known physician, sustained a slight stroke of paralysis on last Monday, while at Union Station waiting to take a train for Atlantic City. He was placed in a carriage and taken to his home 430 W. Biddle St. Dr. Carr was called in and upon examination found his right side affected. He also suffered a stroke of apoplexy.
 
The Doctor was in an improved condition yesterday, and will probably go to Atlantic City in a few days.
 
Dr. Cargill was formerly a minister, and at one time was pastor of Waters A.M.E. Chapel. He represented the old 11th Ward in the City Council for several years, and is the author of the bill creating the Colored High school, and of the bill providing for substituting colored teachers for white teachers in col-schools.
