The funeral of Mr. John C. Minnis, the well-known ice cream manufacturer and politician, who died suddenly Wednesday morning of last week, took place last Saturday afternoon from Sharp St. Memorial E. Church. From 12 to 2 P.M., the remains laid in state, hundreds of people availing themselves of the opportunity to review the remains.
 
The funeral services were attended by a large concourse of people. The church being unable to hold hundreds. The services were conducted by Rev. Dr. W. A.C. Hughes, assisted by a number of ministers.
 
Resolutions from various departments of the church were read. City Councilman, Harry S. Cummings, read resolutions from the Seventeenth Ward Republican organizations, and Mr. Harry T. Pratt read resolutions from the Colored Business Men’s League.
 
Interment was in Mt. Auburn Cemetery
