DENNY–Mrs. Dolly Denny, aged 87 years, departed this life Monday, October 12th at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Annie Dorsey, 420 Hamburg Street. The funeral took place from her home.
 
Mrs. Denny was born on the Eastern Shore at Oxford, on March 10, 1816 out of the Banning family. Craving for liberty she began to save her money, and in 1849 was emancipated by the purchasing of her time with her money that she had earned.
 
In 1855, Mrs. Denny moved to this city and became a resident of South Baltimore where she resided until her death. She was well known and was very highly respected by all who knew her.     Mrs. Denny is survived by one daughter, two sons, 16 grand children, 23 great grand children and 3 great great grand children.
